My Journey to Anti-Inflammatory Wellness

I stumbled into accounting in my early twenties and made a career out of it, helping aggressive startups adapt and grow. For over 20 years, I was the one behind the scenes building out teams, software and processes making sure the companies I worked for were ready for the next phase of growth.

I’m an overachiever and chronic people pleaser, so I had a hard time saying no and creating boundaries in my life to protect my own physical and mental health.

At the end of 2021, I was burnt out and broken. I knew I had to make a change, or I was going to end up in a hospital. I left my controller job and started my own virtual CFO and bookkeeping company to give myself some space to heal, but I struggled with the same bad habits.

Then, at the end of 2022, I caught Covid. In early 2023, I was diagnosed with long Covid. My doctors could only offer additional rounds of medication that hadn’t worked the first time when I asked how I was going to get better. They didn’t know how to help me.

It took me six months to start recovering my strength. Six months of struggling to get out of bed and take care of the bare minimum to get by. I was at a crossroads in my life. I had to find a way to turn things around. My business was struggling, and there was really no way I could “go back to work” in my current condition. Something had to change.

Since the doctors couldn’t help me, I was determined to figure it out on my own. I read books and articles, listened to podcasts, and eventually decided to go back to school for nutrition. I did it for me, but it was that decision that was the start of Wellness by Davlie.

I studied, tried different meal plans, and exercise routines. I paid out of pocket for extensive lab testing so I could get the answers I needed. It took me over two years to realize that my body was full of
inflammation and to finally understand what I needed to do to start getting better.

I still have a long way to go to completely heal, but I’m much better than I used to be!

And through my own journey, I realized that I wanted to be a part of the change and help others find their way back to a healthy happy life. And so here we are!

Our roads to ending up inflamed and exhausted may be different, but the end result is the same:

We’re tired of being tired, tired of endless rounds of medication, tired of not knowing why we feel the way we feel and we just want to get better.

So how do we achieve this?

When you go down the rabbit hole and learn all of the amazing things our bodies can do, it’s really cool, but if our bodies are inflamed and exhausted, it makes it really hard for us to heal.

We have to heal the inflammation so our bodies can do what they were built to do.

Feel Better Without Burning Out

Let’s set some guiding principles before we get started:

You don’t have to change everything in your life to feel better.

You don’t have to give up all of your favorite foods or things you like to do.

Even small shifts in your environment, what you eat, how well you sleep and what type of exercise you do can have huge impacts on your health. You don't need to 10X to succeed.

Your journey is your own. Some things will fit into your life and some won’t. That’s ok!

You decide what you want to do and when.

The key is getting clear on what’s causing your symptoms so you can make the right changes in your life when you’re ready. One simple step at a time.
